Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for more than 45 years focused on people suffering from the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry was a reporter in war zones like Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry was an American journalist, news reporter on TV and host best known for her work as a reporter on the Today program, a daily morning newscast on NBC. Curry became known in particular for her coverage of natural disasters and humanitarian crises which occurred in war-ravaged areas. Curry's father was a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Following World War II, her parents began to meet while her father was serving in Japan. Due to her father's service in the military and the frequent moves they made. They eventually moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. Curry graduated from the University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. Her likely to have developed an empathetic manner of communication due to her exposure to diverse cultures in her early years. Curry was not able to be a student at a particular school in San Diego, Alameda Oregon or Virginia over the course of two years due to her family relocated frequently. Ashland was her last high school. While working as an intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregan, she began her journey as a broadcaster. She was the first woman anchor at the station, when she was 22. Then, she was an anchor/reporter at KGW located in Portland Oregon. Four years later she moved in Los Angeles and became a journalist at KCBS TV. She won two Emmy Awards during the six years with the station.
